The ROA Forum

Information

The Forum is open to all who are interested in Rival yachts, whether or not you are members of the Association. However, if you find it useful, we hope that you will join us and so contribute to the costs of maintaining this site and of producing the ROA's other publications.

General Help

There is usually a Help link on each Forum page or click HERE for the general help pages.

Registration

There are no restrictions on viewing the forum information but you are required to register if you wish to ask a question of, or contribute to the forum. 

Forums

There are currently 4 discussion areas -

General - This is for general queries about Rivals and Gear.

Cruising - For discussions about up and coming cruises, experiences and cruising advice.

Technical - To get help those awkward problems.

Confessional - To own up to those embarrassing mistakes.

Each discussion area contains one or more Topics ie “Pantaenius Insurance”.  Anybody may read information in a Topic, but only registered, logged in users may start a new Topic or reply to an existing Topic.
On entering the forum you will see the following screen :

From here you may either click on:

·        Register – (Yellow Arrow) If you wish to contribute to a discussion.  The registration process requires an email address, and is virtually instantaneous.  You will receive an email which you must respond to by clicking on the included link.  This response completes the registration process and you are then able to post questions or replies., or

• On the “Log In” area (Red Arrow), if previously registered and you wish to start or contribute to a Topic, or
• On the Forum name (Purple Arrow) i.e. Cruising and display all the topics in this forum, or
• On the “last post info” (Green Arrow) for the latest additions within that Forum.

 If you open a discussion area you will see a screen similar to the following example:

From here you click on “new topic” to create a new query for others to respond to or click on the topic title to enter that topic and read or post a reply to that topic.

Clicking on “new topic” will display a screen similar to the following example:

This allows to to type your query and post it to the forum for others to read and respond to.
