ROA Spring 2005 Folly Meet
The Folly meet
for 2005 looked to be a wash out with high winds, rain and cold!!!.
Numbers were a bit down on previous years, and two of the booked Rivals were
unable to come.
So should we all just go for fish and chips instead?
No, like all true gritty Rival owners, the boats turned out, some with a rough trip and some (like me) with a gentle jog across the wind. 7 boats arrived, the weather Gods said OK, you can have a dry afternoon and we wont blow away the splendid Chinese Curry (courtesy of Andrew and Tania) or the hot Lasagne (by my hard working wife Alison). The walking guests arrived (by water taxi!) and we all enjoyed another good Rival evening. The hot mulled wine did help a lot with this!! So if you forgot to come, shame on you. Try harder next year!
We will be
holding the End of Season meet in October and plans are being discussed to use
Itchenor SC at Chichester. Unless anyone can suggest an alternative?
As a final note, this will be Alison's and my last year for organising the Folly
Meet and South Coast VP work. (Its time to sit back and enjoy some warm
sailing and the social events as a guest.
IF A VOLUNTEER WOULD LIKE TO TAKE OVER, I WILL GIVE THEM ALL THE HELP I CAN
TO SETTLE THEM IN.
Have a happy sailing Summer
Cheers
